Expo 2012 Yeosu Korea
Gabon has a stand at Expo 2012, which runs from May 12 to August 12 in South Korea’s southern port city of Yeosu.

The theme of this world exhibition is The Living Ocean and Coast which looks at reconciling marine and coastal life with human development. Gabon is supporting the exhibition’s sub-theme of Coastal Development and Preservation, presenting its work in finding longterm solutions to the risk of flooding

along its nearly 900km of coastline as a result of climate change.

The presidents of Korea and Gabon share a concern for sustainable economic growth – Lee Myung-bak in adhering to the Green Growth policy of the Asia-Pacific region and Ali Bongo Ondimba in pushing ahead with his Green Gabon vision.

The Gabon stand at the Expo international pavilion is also promoting tourism, Gabonese culture (music, art and dance) and investment opportunities in the country, with a communication platform showing Gabon’s economic potential and profiles of companies working there.

World Expos were conceived to show off the achievements and prospects of nations around the globe. This is the second time that the Expo has come to Korea, the first being in Daejeon in 1993. Gabon’s stand at the 2010 Expo in Shanghai, China, was well received.
